RV Rentals in Florida can be hard to come by if you are there in a peak season like spring break. With spring breaks being at different times for different colleges and high schools throughout the country it leaves about a month period where Florida is slammed with spring breakers. It is busy other times of the year but Spring is definitely the peak time for tourists.
Winter in general is busy and summer is kind of less busy but it also depends on where in the state you happen to be at. Florida has a number of big cities that have large populations so the amount of people that live and work in the state is quite large.
You have any number of professional teams and major college spots programs. There is always something going on in Florida. Whether it’s people visiting Disney World which is busy all the time or trying to escape the frigid winters of the north.
I grew up in Michigan and we always went to Florida to escape the harsh winter for a week or two. It is really nice that with a three to four hour plane flight you can be in sunshine and warmth. But I know that I am not the only one that has escaped the north for warmth.
At times a place to stay can be hard to come by. You have a few different options for places to stay in Floride:
- Rent an RV
- Rent an expensive hotel room
- Rent a condo from an owner
- Rent a cheap motel room.
Rent an RV
This option seems to be gaining in popularity. As long as the RV has air conditioning then why not do this and save yourself a few extra bucks. The place I recommend you rent one from is a website called RVShare. Check out my review of it here. It is basically Airbnb for RV and camper trailers.
Rent An Expensive Hotel Room
Florida is not short of expensive hotel rooms or short of hotel rooms in general. Lets face it hotel rooms are expensive no matter where you are or what type of hotel you are in. They are just plain expensive now and you always have to go out to eat. Most do not have kitchens but some do so you can potentially eat in if you want or do fast food. Hotel rooms are plentiful but you are going to pay a lot for a small room.
Rent A Condo From An Owner
This is actually a really popular way to go. Now a days you have a number of websites where you can rent condo’s from the owners. I have done this before and am actually quite happy with it. Problem is that it is hard to find a good one during peak season but if you plan far enough ahead then you should have no problem finding a decent one. Of course the closer you get to the water the more expensive they get but that is to be expected. You can also rent condo’s from local real estate companies that specialize in renting out condos. Both ways are good ways to go but you have to plan ahead if you are going during a busy season.
Rent A Cheap Motel Room
Believe it or not these types of places are still around in Florida. I’m talking about the type’s of places you see on tv or the movies. Where you get there and the pool is half full and the room is a complete dump. I would not recommend staying at place like this but they still do exist so if you dare you can do this and they are really cheap. Again I do not recommend this but to each their own.
If you plan to visit Florida then I recommend that you plan ahead and know exactly what and where you are going especially if you are going during one of the busy seasons. If you are not going during one of the busy seasons then you have some freedom and you should go explore and see what awaits you. The weather is usually always great so go any time of the year. Be a little adventuresome and try renting an RV from an owner. You might surprise yourself and end up really liking it.
