Airbnb camping in a camper van or motorhome is non existent as far as I know. If you are like me then you love the idea of being able to rent and then be able to forget once you are done. And I love the idea of helping someone potentially live the american dream by having a nice place and then renting it out to make some extra money.
Airbnb is an amazing service and it is only going to keep getting bigger and bigger which means it’s going to be cutting into the wallets of the corporate hotels. I just love that it’s a great way to find an affordable place to stay that has charm instead of the noisy hotel filled with people that have some sort of agenda.
RVShare is the Airbnb of camping
They are a number of companies that is going to the peer to peer marketplace like Airbnb, Amazon and Uber. RVShare has joined this space but with their own twist on it of course. Aitbnb specializes in hotel/bed and breakfast rooms to stay in, Uber is taxi and RVShare is of course in the RV and Camper Trailer space.
They have it down and it is awesome. Of course nothing is perfect but my experience with it was awesome.
I was talking with my wife the other day and we were talking about how we are really disappointed that Uber was not around 13-15 years ago when we were going out and about on the town on Friday and Saturday nights because being a DD is a drag and in most places taxis are impossible to find. RVShare is going to dominate the marketplace like Uber has. And even when we were younger we could have been a lot more adventuresome with traveling because with Airbnb we would have been able to find an affordable place to stay anywhere in the world.
Luckily RVShare has come along at the perfect time for us. We have a young family and we like to camp. We have a limited budget so owning an RV is out of the question. With three kids and weather being unpredictable where we live and we are now trying to stay away from the tent scene just because it can be a hassle and it is nice to have your own bathroom and kitchen when you have a whole family to feed.
With an RV you can go camping any time of the year. You are not just limited to the nice times of year when everyone is camping. Why not try and go an odd time of the year when you will have the camp ground to yourself. If you have a tent then who wants to be in it when it is raining. I sure don’t and I can tell you from experience that it is no fun. Check out my review of RVShare here.
Get out and get into nature during the off seasons where you can actually enjoy some peace and quite away from the huge crowds. If you want to go somewhere where you have no Airbnb rooms available then why get a little creative and try RVShare and live life a little.
If you have a little house in the middle of nowhere and you have a family member coming over and instead of having them rent a hotel or sleep on the floor. Rent an RV or Trailer for them to sleep in for the time they are staying. If anything no one will have to worry about driving to the hotel room at night. It is always a lot more fun when you can sleep where you are.
